Usually it is friction around the rotating base, most often from excess flour or semolina, but spilled sauce, cheese or debris can build up and make it stick. Use a light dusting only, avoid overly wet or over-topped pizzas and keep the oven level. If it stops, turn off the rotation, remove the pizza if it is safe, clear loose debris and let it cool.
If you like entertaining and want consistent, restaurant-style pizza at home, yes. One pizza night can replace takeaway for a group, and the auto-rotation means less standing over the oven, so you can focus on the food and your guests. It pays off most if you use it regularly.
No. The 14″ Auto Rotation Pizza Oven must be used outdoors in an open, well-ventilated space only. Do not use it indoors, or in a garage, shed, tent or any enclosed area, and avoid strong wind or bad weather. Open air lets any gas and fumes disperse safely.
Wipe the gas surface with a damp cloth once the oven is cool. For the cordierite stone, wait until it is cool and clean it with a damp cloth. The stone is not dishwasher safe.
Use above ground, in open air with natural ventilation, so gas and combustion fumes disperse quickly. Avoid stagnant or cornered spots with limited airflow, and do not use it in strong wind or bad weather.
Preheat to 350 to 400°C, allowing 45 to 60 minutes. Place the pizza on the turnable stone and start the auto-rotation for even heat. A pizza cooks in under 3 minutes once the oven is up to temperature.
If flour or debris builds up around the rotating base, turn off the rotation, let the oven cool, then brush the debris off. Keep the stone fully dry before you use it again, and store it in the oven if that is easiest.
