The World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends washing hands with soap and water whenever possible because handwashing reduces the amounts of all types of germs and chemicals on hands. But often soap and water are not available, especially when shopping, at work, or school. As such the WHO states that using a hand sanitizer with an alcohol content of at least a 60% can help you avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others.
